Pillars of Pediatric Wellness
There is not a single thing that creates adapatable and thriving children (and adult), but rather an overlap of several factors. We established and focus on all six pillars of pediatric wellness that help support families.
Stages of Play
Play is essentially how we interact with the world around and within us. It is how we learn. Knowing what stage a child is in allows us to set up activities to better move towards the next developmental milestone.
Sensory Integration
Sensory integration is the most significant impact to how we experience the world. Our self regulation is reliant on knowing what sensory input we need and understanding how to access to those resources within or around us.
What Comes First
Knowing what to prioritize is essential to therapy being effective. No approach or modality will work if unless there is a feeling of safety and autonomy, a base skill to build upon, meaning to the activity, and an understanding of why a child is doing something.
