Building Resilience Through Play

A sensory approach to movement interventions.

Life is experienced through movement. Every body needs varying, challenging, and explorative movement for a body that adapts well. When the typical pattern of development is interrupted, the body adjusts (even if that movement pattern isn’t ideal). Then it builds further off that layer over and over. We want to make sure movement is effective so growing little bodies can adapt and thrive.

Play is essentially how we interact with the world around and within us. It generates internal resources and resiliency. It expands our capacity for creative thinking and problem solving. And it releases tension in our body and allows us to be receptive to new ideas. We use play as a foundation for therapeutic change because it’s the foundation of growth.

Assessments & Evaluations

  • An assessment is more informal than an evaluation. It is a 60 minute session with you and your child, and forms filled out prior to the session. A brief report of findings with family prioritized goals and a plan of action will be provided afterwards.

    $250

  • An evaluation is a formalized measure of your child’s progress with standardized testing. It includes a 90 minutes session with you and your child, calls to teachers and/or other providers, a report of findings with family prioritized goals, and immediate a plan of action.
