Wild Fig OT was established by Allison Cost, a pediatric occupational therapist with 15+ years of experience. Created from the desire to provide the best possible treatment for children, she integrated the most up to date sensory integration approaches with the most effective movement interventions. This, along with home based sessions and concierge-level support, affords a quality of care unmatched by therapy clinics.

Clinical Training

My expertise expands beyond a single frame of reference. I have degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Occupational Therapy. My post professional certifications include sensory processing (STAR Institute), DIR-Floortime, various movement approaches (Dynamic Movement Interventions, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Functional Range Conditioning, Neurokinetic therapy), lymphatic therapy, and health coaching. I prioritize ongoing learning and staying up to date on the latest research.

Philosophy

I understand there is a common thread through all chapters of life, from infant developmental milestones to thriving with sensory differences as an adult. There is a clear connection between how we move, how we feel, and how process the world around us. Therapy is effective only when the activities are meaningful and a we feel ownership of our body. I am committed to helping kids find their innate superpowers to grow and helping caregivers connect to their own resilience.

Core Values

Potential.

Growth is never ending.

Equity.

Everyone belongs.

Family.

Community is primary.

Do you want a therapist who really understands and adores your child?

We prioritize the continuum of care. Growth can only happen in a trusting relationship that values your child as unique and amazing. Long term goals, not just covering a symptom, gives your child a joy-filled and independent future.

We work with your whole family. Parenting is an adventure with a lot of unexpected plot twists. We’re here to make sure YOU get the support you need. We recognize and work with the patterns that have impacted the whole family.

Do you want someone with expertise who can explain it well to you?

We are a resource for information. We read the research, take the courses, attend the conferences, and reach out to the specialists so you understand more than ever before. We make the overwhelming information make sense.

We provide a realistic and a positive perspective. Your child is not defined by a diagnosis: they are a little human full of potential who is starting their journey of life. We embrace their strengths while also setting up supports to help them thrive.

Do you want more than “the next available provider”?

We are focused on your child. We each work with a limited number of families at a time so that I can wholly support each of them. We give you a completely different experience from the the typical busy clinic with overworked therapists.

We meet you where you’re at. We bring the therapy room to you, providing sessions in your home or a community location (ie. park) of your convenience. We bring the supplies and the positive energy. You just bring yourself exactly as you are
